Quinta da Padrela
Quinta da Padrela is located in the Douro Region, municipality of Tabuaço, having been acquired by the current owners in 1985. Since that date and until 1990, more than half of the property was restructured. It currently has 12 hectares cultivated with vines, olive groves and walnut trees. Until 2000, all the production of the Quinta was destined for Port wine exporting houses. With the second generation of the family - which is currently dedicated to the management of the company - the dynamization of national and international marketing began. This family business is the result of a dream and the entrepreneurial spirit of several generations.
The entire vineyard is planted in schist soil and with different sun exposures, attributes of the place that contribute to the quality of the wines produced. The youngest vineyard is about 35 years old and the old one, planted in a traditional way and supported by schist walls, is over 70 years old.
The winery was built in 1990 and has two distinct areas: one for production and another for aging, both of which are air-conditioned. Quality wines and a family atmosphere characterize Quinta da Padrela, which is currently also much sought after by caravaners from all over Europe, with a place for caravanning.
