Description

“Parcel wine, where the main care is to choose the best date for its harvest, taking into account the state of maturation / profile of the wine for which it is intended. These are wines that begin to be designed in the pruning and that after entering the cellar suffer the least possible intervention. The profile of the wine is determined by the year in terms of climate. Released only in years when the behaviour of the plot meets the expectations of the required profile and quality.”

Quinta do Pôpa

The history of Quinta do Pôpa began with the dream of Francisco Ferreira (known as Pôpa), the bastard son of a great Douro wine producer, and his maid, Joaquina Ferreira. A generation later, his son José Ferreira (Zeca do Pôpa) made it come true by buying part of Quinta do Vidiedo, located in Adorigo, a parish in the municipality of Tabuaço, in the heart of the Douro Wine Region. In honor of his father, he changed the name of the property to Quinta do Pôpa. In 2010 Stéphane and Vanessa Ferreira both set foot in the Douro, marking it with a new, more youthful and dynamic vision. Stéphane with his love for wine and great passion for music, praises a new approach to the traditional and elegant Douro wines. While respecting tradition, he is open to experimentation and gives rise to new wavy wines. Vanessa gave her feminine and artistic touch to the project. Dreamer and strongly rooted to her home in the Douro, she works the sustainability and wine tourism part with great passion, both in detail.
