The origin of Vasques De Carvalho dates back to the mid-19th century and the family's wine business, which has always transformed its production into fortified wine, selling part to exporting houses and aging another part, enhancing its value. In the middle of the 20th century, the family started trading Port wine, vinifying not only its own grapes but also those bought from third parties, and then selling the wine to the export trade. This strategic change allowed a significant increase in existing stocks. The heirs of this heritage constitute the company Vasques De Carvalho, Sociedade Agrícola e Comercial Lda, adding to its portfolio the production of DOC Douro wines. With a view to a greater projection in the market, Vasques De Carvalho joins Kurtpace S.A., whose investments will allow to reinforce the quality of its Port Wines, through a strategy focused on the production of special categories. Today, 7 years after entering the market, Vasques de Carvalho is already recognized as one of the great references in the production of quality Port wines, having even been distinguished with the award for best producer of the year of fortified wines, in 2019.
