All Around Wine united the 19 Douro municipalities in a joint application with the aim of promoting the region, wines and wine tourism. Other nominations were also presented, but the Douro and the 19 brought the award to what is probably the region that most represents wine, wine tourism and the people and entities that, in various ways, are dedicated to its production and promotion. The Douro is therefore the European City of Wine in 2023.
All around wine was a supra-municipal application that involved the participation of the 19 municipalities that make up the region and will therefore be transversal to the entire territory. The Douro thus advances with joint and concerted strategies and initiatives among the 19 to project the region, wines and tourism in this new year, believing that the initiatives carried out now, within the scope of the European Wine City, will be able to bring immediate added value but also in the medium and long term, especially with regard to the tourism sector.
The title European City of Wine was created in 2012 by RECEVIN, with the aim of promoting European wine producing regions. The assignment rotates between the countries that make up the European Network of Cities of Wine.

There are 167 sports-friendly municipalities in Portugal and Tabuaço is part of this count. José Carlos Silva, vice-president of the Municipality, represented the municipality at the gala awarding the award that took place in Mealhada on the 25th of November.
The Amigo Do Esporte Municipality program comprises a network of Portuguese municipalities that form a group for sharing good practices, references (benchmarking) and training in relation to the intervention of municipalities in physical activity practices and sports development.
Since 2019, Tabuaço has received the distinction of Municipality Friend of Sports, an award awarded by the Cidade Social platform, a program aimed at Portuguese municipalities whose intervention and good practices in the area of sport stand out in the country.
This, which is the 4th consecutive distinction for Tabuaço, was received in Mealhada, on the 25th of November, by the vice-president of the municipality, José Carlos Silva, with Professor Joel Silva also present representing the Physical Education teachers.

O programa Município Amigo Do Desporto compõe uma rede de municípios portugueses que constitui um grupo de partilha de boas práticas, de referências (benchmarking) e de formação em relação à intervenção dos municípios nas práticas de atividades físicas e no desenvolvimento desportivo.
Desde 2019 que Tabuaço recebe a distinção de Município Amigo Do Desporto, galardão atribuído pela plataforma Cidade Social, um programa dirigido às autarquias portuguesas cuja intervenção e boas práticas na área do desporto se destacam no país.
Esta que é a 4ª distinção consecutiva para Tabuaço foi recebida na Mealhada, no passado 25 de Novembro, pelo vice-presidente da autarquia, José Carlos Silva, estando também presente o Professor Joel Silva em representação dos professores de Educação Física.
